Recombinant humanized collagen type 1α2 is the most abundant form of collagen in human tissues and is composed of two identical α-1 type I chains and an α-2 type I chain organized in a triple helical structure. Specifically, recombinant human collagen type I α2 / COL1A2 can be produced by prokaryotic or eukaryotic expression system. And a previous study has shown that recombinant human collagen type I α2 / COL1A2 promotes collagen synthesis, wound healing, and elastin production in normal human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs). Recombinant humanized collagen type I is a protein that contains a partial amino acid sequence fragment from a specific human collagen gene. It can also be a combination of functional fragments from native human collagen. For it has a triple helix structure and can be used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. These applications include skin grafts, wound healing, and tendon and ligament repair. Recombinant collagen can be used in scaffolds as a vehicle for these applications.
